This phase included:
-
design of the fibre optic cable network between the Romanian – Hungarian border and Constanta, crossing the country from the west to the east
-
connection on fibre optic cables of all the zone centers to the Bucharest national center
-
design of local networks for the interconnection on fibre optic cables of the telephone exchanges existing in the zone centers
In this phase the total cable length is 1850 Km.
ONP – Phase II included the engineering design of the national rings and connection of all the distribution centers (county capitals).
In this case Telerom Proiect was selected as subconsultant by SIEMENS – Germany for the south part of the country, while the cable length amounted to 1780 Km.
For the two Phases of OVERLAY NETWORK PROJECT, our institute designed more than 3600 Km throughout the country of this fibre optic cable backbone, which is entirely in operation.
For the whole designed network of ONP our institute also elaborated the as-built drawings, according to the execution of works on site, thus providing clear records necessary to the operator for operation, maintenance and future development activities.
The quick adjustment to up-to-date technologies in the field and to the rhythm, style and philosophy asked for at the world level have always been recognized by our foreign partners who made their decision to use the consulting and design services of Telerom Proiect specialists.
Telerom Proiect have also elaborated a series of design works and studies for the installation of local fibre optic cable networks on Romania's territory, as follows:
- Fibre optic cables for SDH rings to interconnect all the telephone exchanges in Bucharest
- Fibre optic cable rings for some counties, such as: Alba, Arges, Bihor, Giurgiu, Gorj, Olt,
Teleorman, Tulcea, Vrancea, etc., amounting to a length of more than 1500 Km
- Installation of fibre optic cables for private companies, institutions, etc. (e.g. Dorobanti Hotel, MobiFon headquarters, “ Tineretului” Department Store for MobilRom, etc.)
For some investment works Telerom Proiect conducted comparative studies for connections on various telecommunications media, while one of the solutions offered was the use of fibre optic cables (e.g. “Rehabilitation and Modernization Project of the Gas Transmission and Distribution“ for SNGN ROMGAZ).
We prepared the study regarding telephone connection of localities in Ilfov County, also using the fibre optic cables.
Within the Project for the “Expansion, Rehabilitation and Modernization of the Bucharest Access Network, Telerom Proiect prepared engineering design works for 14 telephone exchanges, by ensuring connection on fibre optic cables for key-account customers.
Due to rehabilitation and modernization of national, county roads and motorways we have elaborated design works for telecommunication network relocation, protection and installation.
Modernization of Romanian motorways implies installation of Communication and Traffic Control Systems. The design projects for Bucuresti – Brasov and Brasov – Oradea – Bors Motorways included:
-
Fibre optic cables and equipment for communications along the motorway, also including end-users' connection to node dispatching centres and co-ordination and maintenance centre
-
Facilities for the supervision and maintenance points on the motorway (voice networks, data networks, fire, burglar and access control signaling systems)
-
Traffic control system consisting in: servers, switches, Ethernet, printers, distribution panels, display panels, digital controllers
-
Systems for radio links to ensure emergency calls to: Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance, Service
-
Closed-circuit TV systems for traffic supervision and access control
- Variable Message Signs for provide car drivers with information on events occuring on the motorway
-
Emergency telephone systems (ET-M) + ET-S) every 2 km on either sides of the motorway
-
Weather stations to collect data regarding temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, visibility, rainfall, ice and snow presence.
